As you all know, our beautiful village of Beino is a natural wonder. We all long for it, whether we are abroad or in Beirut or anywhere else in Lebanon. The peaceful tranquility and the beautiful smell of the flowers, the flow of the amazing kitchens as the food is cooked and the fascinating landscape calm the senses of all. When the breeze blows, the flowers appear to dance.
Our village is first and foremost a village that we should fight to preserve and a village we should promote to our children and their children so that their future involves returning to their grandparents homes and continue this tradition. We have to continue being kind to each other to continue to mend rifts and create a bridge of friendships that can last a lifetime. Beino is a community that should practice openness, inclusiveness, non-discrimination and true love in order to transcend all boundaries. We can and must become the jewel of the North.
Many of us have travelled to many other countries. Everywhere we travel to, we say, “ah I miss Beino”. Whether you accept it or not, it is our home, our love and our treasure. There is an old story of a widow living in a small village of France who once said “…here I sit in my garden, listening to the birds chirp, longing for some noise from outside but all my neighbors are taking a nap, my desire is this quiet and warmth my village provides…”.
As many will read this and brush it off, it is a serious project we are undertaking. The village of Beino needs a lot of work, in its roads, in its care of the elderly, in its desire to create a kid-friendly environment for the future generations and above all, during winter we need to feel the warmth of our homes and not the cold. There should be hiking trails, there should be a basketball court for kids, a soccer field, a café that complements El Nawfalieh, an ice cream shop, a local gym/swimming club, etc.
We cannot get any of these projects done because we need money to do them. But nothing is impossible. And to this end, we are asking you to spread the word, to enhance and re-grow our village and to contribute to a fund through PayPal service to send to Beino to be used to fund different projects and to help the elderly people with foods and medicine and basic living.
Please help us to keep our Beino alive and well.
We love you all…
